I spent 55 years not knowing
who I really was.
And then everything changed.

The Story
For most of his life, Torsten Lawrence carried a feeling he couldn't explain — as though his own story had been written in a language he didn't yet speak. Adopted as a baby, he grew up with a deep sense of being different, of not quite belonging, of a mind that refused to be still.
What followed were decades of anxiety, insomnia, and relentless overthinking. He was told he was "too sensitive," "too intense," "too much." He pushed through. He kept showing up. And from the outside, things looked fine. But inside, something fundamental was missing.
At 55, after years of deep personal research, a quiet realisation changed everything: the patterns all pointed to ADHD. Though not formally diagnosed, that single recognition unlocked a lifetime of unanswered questions — the restless energy, the hyperfocus, the emotional intensity, the feeling of being permanently out of step with the world.
But the truth was bigger than any one label. How his brain was wired and the silent weight of adoption — these forces had been shaping everything from the beginning. Learning to see them, name them, and finally sit with them changed not just his understanding, but his life.
Why I Write
To Heal
Writing these books was part of my own healing. Naming what happened, understanding why, and finally letting go of the shame.
To Reach Others
For every person who has been told they're broken, too much, or not enough — these books are proof that you're none of those things.
To Illuminate
ADHD and adoption are deeply misunderstood. I write to bring clarity to the invisible forces that shape who we are.
The TLaw Media Mission
TLaw Media exists to create books, courses, and communities that help neurodivergent adults and adoptees understand themselves deeply — and build lives that actually work for who they are, not who the world told them to be.
